Stunning - both the shot and the subject...
Dr A. W!: thanks yinks
Lovely portrait man. Wish the other eye was in focus too but its still one to be proud of
Dr A. W!: thanks man
funny enough, i'm not inclined to faff over the other eye this time
Oh yeah, the colour is beautiful too
Dr A. W!: and yeah thanks for the likey
Beautiful girl and pic. Like the texture of the red thing she is wearing

Dr A. W!: thanks mal
off to your site i go
Definitely love the editing.
Dr A. W!: thanks e
Could have been awesome, but for the hand
Dr A. W!: the hand is definitely part of the shot
trust me if i didn't want you to see the hand you wouldn't have
Still waiting on the answer to me question
Dr A. W!: oh i see we're still on this issue
you asked to know what the hand adds to this first of all this is a candid shot of a stunning girl being prepped up for a fashion show the fact that i've processed the pic to emphasize the girl's beauty didn't mean the story had to change i could easily have cropped off the hand, totally burn't it out, or actually cloned it out but i decided to leave it as a beauty being prepped up as a compromise (for the easily distracted) i've burnt out the hand a little so that you know what my favourite part of the entire story is so the real question should be "what does the hand take from this?"
You know I assumed Rachel was the makeup artist as soon as I saw this. Lovely shot
Dr A. W!: thanks
Cracker is right, DrAW! WOW.
Dr A. W!: thanks ginnie
didn't think the hand would remove the wow factor
Nice one DrAW. I would really like to see you take that hand out
Dr A. W!: thanks deji
taking out the hand shouldn't be a problem at all
Beautiful! The hand contrasts quite nicely with the lovely subject IMO and like you said it is part of the shot.
Dr A. W!: thanks bridge
re: your other question, the make up artist rachel once worked with house of tara
Excellent portrait Doc. Not sure about the hand or the orange stripe, but I love the face!
Dr A. W!: thanks bill
i forgive your mentioning the hand (my shmood's red after all i agree with you about the orange (ie i'm not sure either) i also agree with you about the face (why i posted it in the first place)
WOW, stunning shot, a likey!
Dr A. W!: thanks pao
Great portrait - I love the colours and the way her blue eye-shadow contrasts with the orange so well. I like the hand - I agree - why take it out when it is obviously part of the story? I'm sure if you wanted to you could have taken an identical picture without the hand!
Ingrid
Dr A. W!: thanks for the detailed comment ingrid
thanks for giving me the credit of possibly knowing better
Love what you did with the picture..nice technique...I haven't quite gotten there yet..lol..hope I do..
Lovely shot..
Dr A. W!: thanks for the compliment ada
mennn! this is nice
Dr A. W!: thanks deji
nice to see you here
Ok just seeing this. Other than the eye... ok even with the eye out of focus still a very nice shot.
Love the retention of skin texture.
Dr A. W!: lol thanks david
oh my and what a stunner she is Mr DrAW, think Suby was been a little off the mark there but your response was sublime
Dr A. W!: thanks for the encouragement tim
Oh gosh, she's beautiful.
Dr A. W!: thanks ellie
A superb portrait with great colors and smoothness. Your model is a beauty.
Dr A. W!: thanks don
Great portrait of a beautiful girl.
Dr A. W!: thanks for the visits cako
nna this na shot.infact e too clean.()
Dr A. W!: thanks yinka
Lovely shot in all aspects. Noticed d discussion about the hand. Both ways(hand or not) great shot. If the hand was more pronounced wt d subject a bit more centered then I think it'd really show a beauty being prepped up. It almost comes across as an after-thought here but all d same great shot!
Really feeling like a pro today
Dr A. W!: thanks man
i wanted to feature just that amount of the girls face with her hair complete and that much space in front of her. too bad the hand was still attached. as much as the hand wasn't an afterthought, i didn't want to crop it off lest nearly cropping the poor girl's ear. next i decided there was no need to go through the stress of cloning out the hand seeing that the shot wasn't planned pre shot anyways. i decided that selectively burning the hand (and the periphery) should be enough. i initially reacted to anyone making a fuss of the hand as someone just nitpicking. i'm not so sure anymore...
draw!!!!!!!!!!!even though the pic is about the model you shoulda included it in the cd you burnt for me.
Hope i am going to get orders and jobs from this your blog.lol(but seriosly) i think we should do a fashion campaign series. lovely photo and do get back to sc soon. beampeh
Dr A. W!: thanks beamps
i can't always include every pic besides you usually want to see the outfits (model faces are mine remember) anyways a fashion campaign sounds like a very good idea i've been ill but will be posting soon... just have to remember where i put the pix from your series
This lady looks awfully familair!
Dr A. W!: yeah i featured her a few times earlier in my blog

Dr A. W!: lol
be expecting you man whenever i'm in town man thanks for going thru my archives like that!!
Okay so i saw the next pic before this one. Gotta agree with them Sub and Sin doc. The hand adds nothing to the shot. Clone it out, make an A4 print and send it to Banke. When she tells you how good your work is, tell her she can repay you by posing for me
Dr A. W!: like i've been trying to imply, only nitpickers would notice let alone be offended by the hand
i agree that the hand adds nothing to the shot but then i could argue the same about the unringed pierced hole in her ear, the little piece of hair above the offending hand, the piece of white showing below her ear, none of which add anything to the shot nor change the fact that this is an image of a stunner. not all images have to be sooo clean, especially when they were shot as candid shots though in fairness to you, i haven't processed it to look that way i'll probably feel different when i grow up in photography, but today i cannot be faffed to clone out the hand! try to see it like a hairpiece that's skin coloured nice try on the repayment plan
As an addition, you do know the image would have been more compelling without the white background right? Fix it mate
Dr A. W!: lol you seem to forget that you've made an earlier comment on this shot and then you only nit picked the eye, and then likeyed it (and don't you dare take that back
you probably didn't even notice the hand or the wall my point (sigh) is that this girl is a stunner, forgive the distractions. in fairness to you though, i'll first clone out the white (or the orange depending on if it's stan or bill) before ever touching the hand
Nice pic dude. Send my regards to the famous "hand"
Dr A. W!: no probs
great DOF, splendid tone.. this is a very very picturesque portrait. well done!

one thing i've confirmed on sc is that if a good photographer dislikes your image, it does not necessarily mean it's a bad image |
