Hi DrAW, I really like this and I am always in awe at your lovely portraits, which I could never match no matter how much I tried. But since you have always welcomed constructive comments I will say the conversion has not been kind to the background. On my monitor the wall looks dirty.
Normally I would not give such a long winded explanation but I recently commented on a sc's image and made a benign comment on cropping a bit of darkness out and received back a rather nasty tiraid via private email
DrAW!: lol!
you can't imagine how readily i welcome any sort of criticism.
at worst my ego would be bruised (not that your comment was anywhere near ego bruising) but i always try to learn from the comments
i'd simply created a vignette to further emphasize ireti, not realizing what i was doing to the wall, thanks for pointing it out
please please i appreciate as much explanation in your comments as shutterchance will allow grin
Interesting what Aussie has said. I recently had a similar experience which was rather a shame as, like her, I was only trying to be helpful. Anyway Doc no problem here cos I like this very much. I think this is a portrait that I could look at a lot so it's going in my likeys!
DrAW!: wow! thanks bill grin
hope the next one doesn't disappoint

Nice shot. Nice and natural
DrAW!: thanks tia
she's also nice and natural in person grin
Nice one, a bit busy on the right? She looks like a strong lady.
DrAW!: thanks nig
she's definitely a strong lady

yes a quality portrait for sure of a beautiful lady indeed, but yes Nigel does have a point about the background to the right.
DrAW!: thanks tim
comment noted smile
Lovely portrait and soft lighting. My only suggestion for improvement would be eliminating the dark area on the right, maybe by cropping.
DrAW!: thaks pen
i admit i was a little careless with he background
this was a test shot but i was very pleased with it in the end

Her expression makes her look a bit stern but I like the shot anyways. Like Nigel said, background could use some work
DrAW!: agree about the background

but you're saying sternness should not be captured on camera?
I like the kind of diagonal line she makes in the frame - and I also like that you have included "so much empty space" to the left in the pic. I won't comment on the background - and then it's done wink
DrAW!: thanks askel
i wish you'd comment about the background too smile

It's so strange, DrAW, to have an initial reaction to an image and then read the comments. My initial reaction to this image is that it's one of your best ever for me! The lighting is just superb.

Once everyone said something about the background, I then looked. The ONLY thing I might have done was straighten the image to align with the vertical window border. That's all!
DrAW!: thanks ginnie
i hope i keep up the standard smile

DrAW!: ef 28-135 3.5/5.6 is usm

i guess it can pretend to be a macro lens when it wants tongue
Good stuff
DrAW!: thanx
