I just recently heard of Shutterstock, DrAW, but have never checked them out. I'm guessing they wouldn't like my images either, for one reason or another. But as someone else commented in a previous post, the best commercial images are not always the best photographs. And, Oh yes, their loss is our gain. smile
DrAW!: thanks ginnie
but i don't think it's fair to them to guess they wouldn't like your images
i know you don't take your shots for such commercial purposes but it wouldn't be a bad idea to submit a few from the collection from your numerous travels
it doesn't have to be shutterstock either, all i'm saying is a few extra bucks can't hurt smile

Some of those stock photos are just so boring, no real life to them at all. We'll enjoy seeing them.
DrAW!: thanks aussie
i have to admit though that many of the photos i saw there were very creative
maybe if they'd said my shots lacked the content they're looking for, it would've been easier for me to make a comeback
as it is they've complained about the lighting and even the white balance (yes in a black and white picture!) so i'm really looking for some tips as to where i went wrong. if not i'll be making the same mistakes all over again
I guess the secret is to look at the sort of thing they accept and then look at your own pictures and see how they compare. A quick look suggests the pictures are generally very well lit with a range of colour from a clean white to a solid black. I suspect that has something to do with ultimate printing. Apart from that it's nice to see your rejectssmile
DrAW!: thanks bill
i think you're right about the lighting
wish they didn't give me such a generic rejection though
looking forward to your comment on the next one (next tomorrow)
There is nothing poor about this lighting. They should give you the real reason. Nice shot my man.
DrAW!: i guess the pics that will lend themselves well to stock photography can't afford to have moody (what we like to call artistic grin) lighting
looking at the pics that sell well, i understand why they won't find this useful...though i disagree that there could be a problem with the white balance as this is a monochrome shot

Great idea for a series! The shadows are strong, but I think it works well for this shot.
DrAW!: thanks martin
was looking for a silhouetty feel (in the hope that i wouldn't have to get model releases grin)
I love tjis picture, draw. Unique idea. You captured the ship while people were watching or just when they're relaxing. You captured at the right time! Good to see it in Black and White.

When I see this pic, I think this one is made in Suriname:p
DrAW!: thanks kavita
there's lots of beautiful sights to see in nigeria
but from what you say, suriname must be a very beautiful place

this picture is amazing... may be if the people where in shadows like the dude standin in the middle, stock might probably accept the shot. keep up the good work DrAW i always enjoy your shots
DrAW!: you're probably right
thanks dayb smile

This is beautiful! It's great that it's in black and white. I'm sure the water won't look as gorgeous if it weren't.
DrAW!: thanks tia
I like the picture indeed ! And this boat there is really impressive !
DrAW!: thanks zebby
i Like!
DrAW!: thanks hamed
